Whatever you focus on becomes your center, when you are unable to break that focus it becomes an addiction, and addiction comes in many forms. My father was addicted to money and religion and had no time for his children. He postured knowledge that he didn't have in order to fit in with the Brethren that were doing the same. My mother was addicted to her own self importance, a specialness that her religion reinforced. She was afraid to open her mind to the world reality. She tortured her children in an attempt to trap them in the same small reality that supported her madness.
After years of suffering the guilt of not conforming to the reality of the dead pedophile that Mother programed me to, I started to question my own sanity. Then I started to break out of that small mindedness, only to discover that my core Mormon programing was just the tip of the iceberg. I found that the whole western world was trapped in different forms of the same disease. There are layers of hierarchies controlling the things we center on. These hierarchies insure that equality - or reason for that matter - will not break out in the near future.
We come by this tendency to follow blindly naturally because we are herd animals, and as herd animals we only think for ourselves when we lose our leadership. Now that Trump is president, those of us that live in the U. S. should start to realize that we have lost our leadership and wake up and start thinking for ourselves. Maybe something beneficial will come out of this, if only we wake up to our core program that supports this self-destructive path we are on!!
